The Shenango Community Education Foundation is seeking candidates to fill seats on its board of directors.
The 11-member volunteer board meets periodically to provide direction and to make decisions regarding the foundation’s activities and disbursements.
The directors include community members and Shenango school personnel, as well as one member of the Shenango study body. The board meets as needed throughout the year. Opens seats are for three-year terms beginning July 1, 2017. Anyone who is interested should call 724-658-5537 or contact Dr. Karen Matis at kmatis@shenangoschools.org by May 1.
The Shenango Community Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that strives to advance educational opportunities for students in the Shenango Area School District.
The foundation works with community members, district employees, friends, alumni and local businesses to sponsor activities that help raise funds to promote educational opportunities above and beyond the school district’s budgetary means.
