After approximately fourteen months, the construction of the Shenango Recreation Complex is nearing completion. The new facility will feature three basketball/volleyball courts, three pickleball courts, a walking track, an indoor pole vault and long jump area, batting cages, and a state-of-the-art weight room facility. We are excited to offer a facility that our students and community members can use and enjoy.
Some supplies and equipment are back-ordered due to supply shortages. Items such as scoreboards, weight room equipment, and finishing touches will take some time for delivery and installation. While we wait for those items to arrive, the district plans to allow our students to utilize the facility at the beginning of February. Community use will begin after the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in the spring.
In the spring, community hours for Shenango Township residents will be between 8:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. Access to the track, basketball, and pickleball courts will be available. In addition, facility rental times may be offered during the weekends based on availability. Additional information regarding building usage will be forthcoming.
