SHS Baseball Toy Drive a Big Success!

On Sunday, the SHS Baseball Team donated their time and delivered gifts to Children’s Hospital.  Special thanks to the quick and generous response from our community families, students, faculty, coaches, and players!

The baseball team loaded two vans with nine players, our scorekeeper, four coaches – and ten bags filled with more than 400 toys for all ages.  For ninety minutes Sunday afternoon, our players facilitated games of Bingo and handed out toys to the winners. There were plenty of Bingos today, thanks to the hustle of our players and the sharp eyes of our coaches.  For those patients restricted to their room, players had the opportunity to hand out toys on several of the patient floors.

On behalf of Shenango’s High School Baseball program, it was a good day for sure. Parents, Administrators and Teachers in our school district, and our coaching staff are very proud of the compliments our players received from representatives of Children’s Hospital.  More importantly, the parents and family members of the patients whose circumstances were forgotten for a brief time today complimented this toy drive initiative and the generosity of our team’s efforts.
